DR.CHANEL ZHOURI
Dr. Chanel Zhouri is a chiropractor passionate about helping people understand their bodies, overcome pain, and build confidence through movement.

Originally from Newfoundland and Labrador, she completed her Bachelor of Science at Dalhousie University before earning her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto.

Throughout her clinical training, Dr. Chanel gained experience in both private practice and hospital-based settings, where she developed a strong interest in collaborative healthcare and evidence-informed rehabilitation. Working alongside professionals from a variety of healthcare disciplines reinforced her belief that meaningful care looks beyond a single symptom and considers the whole person.

Dr. Chanel often describes chiropractors as “health detectives.” She combines a detailed history, comprehensive physical examination, and an understanding of each person’s lifestyle, work, stress, sleep, movement, and overall health to better understand the factors contributing to pain and dysfunction. Her approach is grounded in the biopsychosocial model, recognizing that physical, mental, and social factors can all influence recovery. For Dr. Chanel, understanding whysomeone is experiencing pain is just as important as knowing how to treat it.

Her care blends hands-on treatment with personalized rehabilitation, movement coaching, and patient education. Whether helping someone navigate a new diagnosis, return to an activity they love, or feel more confident managing their symptoms, her goal is to make healthcare feel understandable, collaborative, and empowering.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Chanel is committed to advancing education and awareness within both the profession and the broader community. She currently serves as a Member-at-Large with the Nova Scotia Chiropractic Board and is a member of the Canadian Chiropractic Association’s Women’s Chiropractic Caucus (WCC). Through these roles, she is passionate about contributing to conversations that support education, awareness, collaboration, and the continued growth of chiropractic care.

Above all, Dr. Chanel believes patients deserve to understand their health, feel heard in the healthcare process, and leave with practical knowledge and tools they can use beyond the treatment room. To her, successful care is not simply feeling better today, it is understanding what is happening, knowing what you can do, and feeling more confident in your ability to move forward.
