PELVIC FLOOR PHYSIOTHERAPY

Feel stronger. Move with confidence. Understand your body.

Pelvic floor concerns are common, but they don’t have to be your normal.
Whether you’re navigating pregnancy, postpartum recovery, bladder leakage, pelvic pressure, or discomfort, a pelvic floor physiotherapist can help you understand your body and build a plan that works for you.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your first appointment starts with a conversation.

Meet Our Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist

Allison is a physiotherapist originally from Pictou County, Nova Scotia. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics at Saint Francis Xavier University and her Master’s in Physiotherapy at Glasgow Caledonian University in Scotland.

With experience in private practice, sports rehabilitation, and hospital settings in both Canada and the UK, Allison takes a client-centred, evidence-informed, and rehabilitation-focused approach to care.

She is passionate about using movement and strengthening to help clients build confidence and create lasting change.

Since returning to Nova Scotia, Allison has expanded her practice to include pelvic floor physiotherapy, with a particular interest in pre- and postnatal care and incontinence.

Your first appointment is a 60-minute initial consultation designed for you and your pelvic floor physiothrapist  to discuss your symptoms, history, goals, and what you’ve already tried. Your assessment may include movement, breathing, strength, mobility, and pelvic floor assessment.

Internal assessment is optional and only performed with your consent.

You’ll leave with a clear understanding of what’s happening and a personalized plan to help you move forward.

Prepare for the changes ahead.

You don’t need to wait for symptoms to start working on your pelvic health.

Prenatal physiotherapy can help you build strength and coordination, stay active, prepare for birth, and understand the changes happening throughout pregnancy.

PRENATAL

Recovery is a process, not a deadline.

Pregnancy and birth can change your pelvic floor, core, strength, mobility, and confidence with movement.

Allison can help you rebuild strength, manage bladder symptoms, address discomfort, and return to the activities you love.

POSTPARTUM

Leakage is common.
It doesn’t have to be your normal.

Whether you leak when you sneeze, cough, laugh, run, jump, or exercise,
pelvic floor physiotherapy can help.

Your plan may include pelvic floor strengthening, coordination, breathing and pressure management, bladder education,
and progressive exercise.
